TEHRAN (Defapress) - Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, one of the most important institutions providing humanitarian services to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, has pointed out the problems of the agency's staff in Gaza in a post on Platform X.
According to his statements, about 360 UNRWA staff in Gaza have lost their lives, some of whom were killed while performing their duties. Hundreds of staff have also been injured, and about 50 have been arrested or detained, some of whom were tortured during their detention.
Despite these difficult and dangerous conditions, Lazzarini stressed that UNRWA staff continue to work. He said: "Our staff have not given up despite the hellish conditions they experience every day." This demonstrates their commitment and dedication in providing services to Palestinian refugees.
