TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that the ongoing operations of the Israeli army, which began in January in the Jenin refugee camp and expanded to other camps last month, have caused more Palestinians to flee these historic shelters.
In its weekly report on the situation in the occupied territories, UNRWA said: "Imposed conditions, threats of demolition and evacuation orders have led to the displacement of more residents from these camps, which were previously almost empty."
The agency added: "The Zionist military continues to use military tactics and advanced weapons, including tanks, to suppress Palestinian civilians in the West Bank."
The statement added: “The Israeli authorities intend to continue these attacks for the foreseeable future, preventing residents from returning to the camps.”
The ongoing deadly Israeli attacks in the occupied West Bank have martyred at least 25 Palestinians and displaced 40,000 people this year.
