TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to local media reports, New Zealand's city of Auckland witnessed a massive demonstration on Saturday (local time) in support of the Palestinian people and condemnation of the genocidal war by the Zionist regime against Gaza. Dubbed the "March for Humanity," organizers stated it was the largest pro-Palestine protest in New Zealand's history.
As reported by Radio New Zealand (RNZ), approximately 20,000 people participated in the march. The demonstration began at Aotea Square and concluded at Victoria Park.
Participants in the rally called for sanctions against Israel and urged the New Zealand government to take immediate action against the crimes of the Tel Aviv regime. They also emphasized the necessity of an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, an immediate end to the blockade of Gaza to allow humanitarian aid entry, and the resumption of operations by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
Protesters, holding Palestinian flags, chanted slogans such as "Don't normalize genocide" and "Grow a spine, stand with Palestine."
Nadine Mortaja, a spokesperson for the group "Aotearoa for Palestine", stated in a speech at the event, "This is the largest march in New Zealand's history in support of Palestine."
