Israel Launches Airstrikes in Syria since Russian S-300 Delivery
TEHRAN (defapress)- The Israeli military has attacked a number of targets inside Syria since the downing of the Russian IL-20 reconnaissance aircraft on September 17th, a senior Israeli official stated, as reported by a British media outlet.
“The [Israel Defense Forces] have attacked Syria, including after the downing of the Russian plane. Military coordination with the Russians continues as before,” the anonymous senior official said, the AMN reported.
The Syrian military has yet to report any Israeli activity over their skies since the downing of the Russian IL-20 aircraft.
The Syrian military believes that Israel’s hesitancy to launch any airstrikes is due to the recent delivery of the Russian S-300 air defense system.
In early October that an Israeli warplane was stalking the Lebanese-Syrian border; however, it did not end up crossing into Syria.
