Indirect negotiations between Iran and America

TEHRAN (defapress) - The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the United Nations said on Saturday at the local time that in response to the media's question about the news published about the indirect talks between Iran and the United States in Oman: These talks are an "ongoing process".

The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the United Nations also clarified that these negotiations were not the first and will not be the last.

The American Axios website cited informed sources that two senior officials of the Biden administration had an indirect conversation with Iranian officials last week in Oman.

This American media continued that earlier and in January 2024, similar negotiations were held in Oman. In this round of talks, Brett McGurk, Joe Biden's senior advisor in the Middle East, and Abram Paley, the US acting representative for Iran affairs, were present.

Axios wrote that McGurk and Paley arrived in Oman on Tuesday (May 25) and met with the mediators of the host. It is not known who participated in these negotiations on behalf of Iran.

This media claimed that the talks were focused on the activities of Iran and resistance groups in the region and US concerns about Iran's nuclear program.
