Concerns for Abu Safia's Safety

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, medical professionals and activists globally are urging the release of the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital, who was apprehended alongside hundreds of others during a raid on the medical facility last week.

Concerns are mounting on social media that Abu Safia could suffer a fate similar to that of Dr. Adnan al-Bursh, the director of al-Shifa Hospital, whose death in Israeli custody sparked allegations of torture.

Dr. al-Bursh, a leading figure in Gaza’s medical community, was detained during an Israeli operation last December and martyred 4 months later. Eyewitnesses reported to the Israeli human rights organization HaMoked that they witnessed prison guards at Ofer dragging al-Bursh and leaving him in the prison yard.

In light of these events, activists are imploring the international community to intervene and protect Abu Safia from a similar outcome.
