TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the New York Times, local authorities in Los Angeles announced that the number of victims of the extensive fires in different areas has increased to 16 people and 12,000 buildings have been completely destroyed.

CBS News agency reported that the extensive fires in the Los Angeles area have completely destroyed some neighborhoods and displaced tens of thousands of people. 

According to the report, the area of ​​​​the burned areas as a result of the fire reaches more than 60 square miles and despite the decrease in wind speed on Friday, the fire danger remains high and is expected to increase again from Saturday evening. The National Weather Service has warned that the fire danger will remain high in all areas of Los Angeles and Ventura until Wednesday.

The Palisades Fire, the largest wildfire in the region, continues to burn. Local authorities have ordered mandatory evacuations for the Encino and Brentwood neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

The Eaton Fire, in northern Los Angeles County, has killed at least 6 people and burned more than 21 square miles. The blaze has left behind horrific images of devastation.
