TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Zionist regime, in the aftermath of the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government, began its attacks and aggressions against southern Syria and has continued them to this day. We are witnessing attacks by this regime's fighters on areas and military bases across Syria—aggressions that have provoked the anger and outrage of the Syrian people due to their persistence and continuity.

What is the Zionist Regime Seeking in Syria?

In its latest round of attacks and aggressions against Syria, the Zionist regime carried out 4 airstrikes on a military base south of Damascus and in Daraa province. According to reports from Syrian media, these attacks have resulted in the deaths of at least 2 Syrian citizens.

On the other hand, local Syrian media reported new movements and occupations by the Zionist regime in the southern regions of the country. According to these sources, Israeli occupation forces advanced this Friday morning toward the Tel Mashara military area in the eastern outskirts of Quneitra in southern Syria. Gunfire was also reported in this military area by the occupying army.

However, this was not the end. Syrian media reported yesterday that, simultaneously with the presence of occupation forces inside the Tel Mashara military area, Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew over Quneitra province. Additionally, Zionist forces cut off the communication route between the towns of Tel Mashara and Nabaa al-Sakhr in the central outskirts of Quneitra.

The Zionist regime's aggressions against Syria continue under circumstances where, according to available documents, the Israeli army has attacked various locations in Syria over 400 times since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government, targeting Syrian military and security facilities with bombings. These attacks, according to military experts, have caused extensive and irreparable damage to the Syrian army.

The scope of the Zionist occupying army's aggressions has also reached the village of Al-Rafid in the southern part of Quneitra in southern Syria. Reports indicate that Zionist forces, along with their military equipment, infiltrated this village. This demonstrates that Zionist forces have no restrictions or red lines for movement within Syria and are encroaching on various regions of the country.

Syrian media also reported yesterday that 4 vehicles belonging to the Zionist regime forces entered the communication road between the villages of Jamla and Sisun in the western outskirts of Daraa in southern Syria. In fact, it has become clear that the Zionist regime is aggressively advancing in the southern regions of Syria.

Amidst all this, what has raised the most questions is that Zionist military officials have repeatedly stated in their remarks that their focus is on destroying Syria's military infrastructure. Even Tel Aviv has claimed that it is trying to prevent Syrian army weapons from falling into the hands of "extremists."

Another important point is that the leaders and officials of the Zionist regime unanimously say they are only targeting military facilities, including weapons depots, ammunition storage, airports, naval bases, and military research centers in Syria. In reality, this statement signifies the Zionist regime's opportunistic exploitation of the security vacuum in Syria to damage and destroy all military infrastructure of the Syrian army.
