Al-Nusra Front to Leave Damascus for Idlib SoonAsia News reported that local and international sides are holding talks to convince the al-Nusra to deliver control of its positions in Damascus to the Syrian army and leave the region for Idlib.

The Arabic-language website quoted informed sources as saying that the army has tightened noose on al-Nusra in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and therefore, the terrorist group has declared that it accepts the agreement and will evacuate its positions in Eastern Ghouta in the next few days.

Meantime, residents of the region have been holding protest rallies in the past few weeks, demanding the al-Nusra to leave the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.

Media sources close to the terrorist groups disclosed late in July that Moscow has given Faylaq al-Rahman militants one day to cut its relations with al-Nusra Front in Eastern Ghouta and expel them from areas under their control.

According to AMN, the Russian military delegation in Syria has given Faylaq Al-Rahman in East Damascus exactly 24 hours to force the Al-Qaeda-linked Tahrir Al-Sham Hay'at (Al-Nusra Front) to leave the area or else the Syrian Army will not be required to adhere to the ceasefire that has recently come into effect.

Meantime, some sources close to the terrorist groups also reported that Faylaq al-Rahman has asked Al-Nusra Front either to accept being merged in Faylaq al-Rahman or leave Eastern Ghouta for Idlib.

Faylaq Al-Rahman controls a large portion of Eastern Ghouta in Damascus province; however, the militants are currently at odds with Jeish Al-Isam, which is one of the largest militant groups in the region.

The Syrian army troops relaunched their operation against the al-Nusra Front in Eastern Ghouta after Faylaq al-Rahman militants failed to drive the al-Nusra out of the region.
