During the meeting in the Iraqi capital on Monday, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari and Iraqi Minister of Construction and Housing Anne Nafi Aussi explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral relations.
The two sides reiterated that removal of problems in the banking field would be effective in expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Shariatmadari expressed the hope that the upcoming visit to Iraq by Iranian First vice President Eshaq Jahangiri would serve to draw up a road map for Tehran-Baghdad economic cooperation.
Shariatmadari, who arrived in Baghdad Monday morning at the head of a delegation, also held talks with Iraqi Minister of Works and Planning Salman Jumaili and Minister of Industry and Minerals Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and discussed ways for expanding mutual cooperation in various trade and industrial fields.
