Iran to make 4 stem cell research centers abroad

In order to transfer technology, Iran is going to establish four centers in Iraq, Oman, Azerbaijan, and Syria, said the managing director of the Royan Institute on Sunday.

Iran to make 4 stem cell research centers abroadTEHRAN (Defapress) 'The four centers will be inaugurated by the end of the current Iranian Year (March 20, 2019),' said Morteza Zarrabi in a press conference.

He also said that a center is already active in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq,'

He added that the technology of separating and storing stem cells is completely native in Iran, and Iran can use export it to the neighboring countries.

Royan Institute is a public non-profitable organization which is affiliated to Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) and was established in 1991 by the late Dr. Saeid Kazemi Ashtiani as a research institute for Reproductive Biomedicine and infertility treatments.

In 1998, the institute was approved by Ministry of Health as Cell Based Research Center. Now the institute acts as leader of Stem Cell research and also one of the best clinics for infertility treatment. It has 46 scientific members and 186 lab technicians.
