TEHRAN (Defapress)_Despite the defeat of Daesh (ISIS) in Iraq and most of Syria, it is likely that a reduced “covert version” of the militant group’s “core” will survive in both countries, with significant affiliated supporters in Afghanistan, Libya, Southeast Asia and West Africa, Western media quoted UN as saying in its report.
According to UN report, the group is still capable of carrying out attacks inside the territory of Syria, and although it does not take control of any territory in Iraq completely, it is active through secret cores.
Although many Daesh funding channels have been cut off, the group continues to penetrate small areas in northeastern Syria, allowing ISIS members to earn money through oil revenues.
