TEHRAN (Defapress) - An Israeli airstrike targeted a school housing displaced people in Gaza City this afternoon, resulting in multiple casualties among the displaced families sheltered inside the school.
The Arabic media reported that at least 17 civilians, including children, were killed in the attack on the school located in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in western Gaza City. Over 60 others sustained various injuries as a result of the deadly attack.
The correspondent of the Arabic media said that the initial strike targeted the Hamama School in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. The school was hit by three missiles once again while emergency and civil defense teams were attempting to evacuate the victims.
A medical source at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza reported that several of the deceased and injured were children, and the bombing caused significant damage to classrooms in the already overcrowded school.
This incident marks a troubling continuation of Israel’s attacks on schools sheltering displaced families, with previous strikes having caused significant loss of life. The current Israeli military onslaught, which has persisted for over 302 days, has seen numerous similar attacks.
