France condemns the attack on UNIFIL forces in Lebanon

TEHRAN (Defapress) -  According to Al Jazeera, the Zionist regime is trying to repeat the same brutality it carried out in Gaza in Lebanon. However, the presence of the UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, is one of the obstacles in this regard. Therefore, the Zionists constantly target UNIFIL forces.

Accordingly, the French Foreign Ministry issued a statement strongly condemning the attacks on UNIFIL forces.

The statement published in this regard states: We strongly condemn the rocket attack on UNIFIL forces on Friday, during which four Italian soldiers were injured.

The statement adds that France once again emphasizes the need for UN peacekeepers to maintain their freedom of action in Lebanon so they can properly carry out their assigned tasks.

Paris has emphasized the need for the parties to the conflict to ensure the security of UNIFIL forces in Lebanon, adding: "Any attack on UNIFIL forces is considered a violation of international law and is contrary to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701."
