TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, Itamar Ben Gvir, Israel's far-right National Security Minister, along with two other ministers from his nationalist-religious party, has stepped down from Netanyahu's cabinet in response to the ceasefire agreement.
Ben-Gvir, a settler in Kiryat Arba—one of the most hardline settlements in the occupied West Bank—has a history of convictions for incitement to racism, property destruction, and possession of propaganda from a designated terrorist organization. He has also been associated with the outlawed Kach group, founded by Meir Kahane since he was 16.
In the March 2021 elections, Ben-Gvir's party successfully entered parliament by merging with Bezalel Smotrich's National Union party, forming the Religious Zionism slate, although they ultimately lost the election.
