TEHRAN (Defapress) - The President of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid, in an interview with France 24, emphasized that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) are an integral part of Iraq's security apparatus, and the government maintains full control over the situation. He noted that there have been no significant issues in this regard for quite some time, as the PMF operates under the government's oversight as a key component of Iraq's security framework.
Rashid explained that Iraq's participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos was aimed at presenting a realistic portrayal of the current situation in Iraq and the broader Middle East. He highlighted the stable security conditions in Iraq, positive relations with neighboring countries, and the government's focus on delivering services to the people. He also mentioned Iraq's ongoing cooperation with regional and European nations to attract investments and implement essential service projects.
He further stressed that Iraq is not facing serious internal tensions, with the parliament and government representing the majority of political forces and parties. Rashid reaffirmed Iraq's independence, stating that the government makes all decisions in the nation's interest. He expressed support for the Syrian people's aspirations for democracy and voiced hope that Donald Trump would follow through on his commitments to end conflicts.
In closing, Rashid expressed optimism about Iraq's future, outlining plans to enhance public services, develop infrastructure, and strengthen ties with neighboring countries and the international community.
