TEHRAN (Defapress) - In an interview with Defapress correspondent, "Sayyed Reza Sadr Al-Husseini," an expert on West Asian affairs, regarding the overt and covert messages of holding the funeral ceremonies for Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyyed Hashem Safi al-Din, former Secretaries-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, for the Zionist regime and the United States, stated: The funeral ceremony for the martyrs of Hezbollah was not merely a mourning event but a symbol of power, unity, and a brighter future for the resistance front. This event not only demonstrated the strengthening of Hezbollah's position in Lebanon but also sent a strong message to all enemies and supporters of the Resistance that Hezbollah continues to play a pivotal role in regional and global equations.

Historic Funeral Marks the Renewal of Hezbollah's Authority

Sadr Al-Husseini added: In fact, the funeral procession of the martyred leaders of Hezbollah in Beirut became one of the largest and most historic political and social events. The millions who gathered from across Lebanon and the region to bid farewell to Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyyed Hashem Safi al-Din sent important messages of unity and strength from the axis of Resistance to the world.

The West Asia affairs expert continued: Lebanon witnessed an unprecedented event that surpassed expectations and became one of the largest political and social events in the country's history. The funeral procession of the martyred Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, and Seyyed Hashem Safi al-Din, his deputy, was held in Beirut in an atmosphere filled with grief, grandeur, and power. A massive crowd, far beyond any prediction, gathered from various parts of Lebanon and even beyond its borders to bid farewell to the leaders of the Resistance in the severe cold, turning this ceremony into a historic and instructive epic. Meanwhile, symbolic funeral processions for these martyrs were taking place in other parts of the world.

He noted that the grieving yet hopeful participants demonstrated that the concept of Resistance transcends the boundaries of a single group or country. Chants of "Labbayk O Nasrallah" and "Down with Israel" filled the atmosphere of Beirut with the attendees' sacred anger, showcasing the unity and solidarity of the Axis of Resistance.

Sadr Al-Husseini continued: The funeral was attended by prominent figures from across the region and representatives from approximately 90 countries, including Iran, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Palestine. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister, and several representatives of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution were present. Delegations from Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces and Resistance groups also came to Beirut. Representatives from revolutionary and Resistance movements in Palestine and other regions attended this grand epic, including Sheikh Zakzaky, the steadfast and influential mujahid from the African continent.

The West Asia affairs expert stated: Meanwhile, international media extensively covered the event. Al Jazeera described the procession as a "display of the greatness of the Axis of Resistance," while Al Mayadeen reported on the "unprecedented public presence." Western media outlets such as BBC, The New York Times, Reuters, Arab News, Sky News, and others also reflected on the ceremony and its unparalleled dimensions.

He emphasized that with 16 studios along the procession route and hundreds of reporters, cameramen, photographers, and social media activists, this event became an enduring epic in history. Additionally, a BBC Persian reporter, in a report from the scene, referred to the "unexpected scale of this gathering" and emphasized in an analysis that "this funeral was more than a mourning ceremony; it was a display of Hezbollah's and its supporters' power."

Sadr Al-Husseini said: This grand, historic, and unparalleled funeral in the Islamic world and Beirut demonstrated that Hezbollah, the powerful and heroic entity, remains alive and dynamic. The fresh blood of Resistance continues to flow in the veins of the free nations of the world, and the Islamic Ummah and the great Axis of Resistance continue to advance vigorously, joyfully, and spiritedly toward dismantling the occupation of the Holy Quds and liberating Islamic lands. The martyrs of the resistance, especially the steadfast mujahid and pioneering leader Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, will serve as their guiding compass on this luminous path.

The West Asia affairs expert continued: This enduring epic, which honored the memory, name, legacy, and inspiring achievements of Seyyed Nasrallah, saw a massive turnout of people from various countries, religions, sects, ethnicities, and political movements. Despite threats from the Zionist regime's fighters, their presence reaffirmed their commitment to the School of Resistance and served as a powerful response to the enemies of the Axis of Resistance.

Strategic Messages of the Funeral Ceremony

Sadr Al-Husseini stated: This ceremony, beyond being a religious or political gathering, carried strategic messages. One of the major objectives of the Zionist regime in assassinating Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyyed Hashem Safi al-Din was to create a leadership vacuum within Hezbollah, weaken its internal cohesion, and consequently diminish the resistance's standing in the region and the world. However, the images broadcast from this event showed that not only was this goal not achieved, but also the unity of the Axis of Resistance was further strengthened.

The West Asia affairs expert added: Additionally, televised messages from Resistance leaders, particularly Sheikh Naim Qassem, the new Secretary-General of Hezbollah, emphasized unity and the continuation of the Resistance path. In his speech, Sheikh Naim Qassem declared that Hezbollah has not been weakened by this loss but will continue its fighting against enemies with even greater motivation and effort.

He stated: The magnificent and rare ceremony held yesterday in Lebanon demonstrated that Hezbollah, despite losing 2 of its most prominent leaders, continues to have widespread popular support. Moreover, regional support for the group is a sign of Hezbollah's enduring role in the political and security equations of West Asia.

Sadr Al-Husseini stated: Given recent developments, it is expected that in the coming months, the power dynamics in Lebanon and the region will undergo changes in which Hezbollah's role will be decisive. The enemies of the Resistance have come to understand that assassinating Hezbollah's leaders not only fails to weaken this front but further strengthens its unity.

The West Asia affairs expert emphasized: Another consequence of this epic funeral will be the elevation of Hezbollah's standing in the strategic, social, political, security, and military spheres of Lebanon and, by extension, the region and the global Resistance.

He concluded: Another crucial and fundamental aspect of this rare funeral was the appreciation and highlighting of the values of honesty, truthfulness, purity of intention, goodness, and divine and Islamic virtues among the people of Lebanon, which can serve as an enduring lesson for the leaders and rulers of Islamic countries.
