TEHRAN (Defapress) - As the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire is nearing its end, Zionist media reported that Netanyahu and his cabinet are vigorously seeking to sabotage and obstruct the path to a Gaza ceasefire. This issue has provoked the anger and outrage of the Hamas movement and the Palestinian people.
The office of Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, announced its agreement to this temporary ceasefire hours after the expiration of the first phase of the ceasefire, which had previously been agreed upon. However, according to news and reports from Zionist media, Netanyahu, up until the time of this report, has been actively and covertly working to obstruct the path to initiating the second Gaza ceasefire agreement.
As it appears, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, is solely focused on extending the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement to secure the release of all Israeli captives held by Hamas. Evidence of this is the claim made by Netanyahu’s office in a statement, which declared that Hamas has violated the ceasefire agreement and that if negotiations fail, they will resume the Gaza war after the 42nd day.
Meanwhile, the Hamas movement has stated that although the first phase of the ceasefire has ended, no negotiations have taken place to initiate the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire. This indicates that the Zionist regime is more focused on resuming the Gaza war and the slaughter of men, women, and children in the strip than on the release of Israeli captives.
Now, a thought-provoking point is the statement from Netanyahu’s office regarding the latest status of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. It mentioned that if Hamas changes its position and releases half of the Israeli captives during the holy month of Ramadan, the Zionist regime will negotiate with the Hamas movement regarding the Steve Witkoff plan proposed by the U.S. representative in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Gideon Sa'ar, the Foreign Minister of the Zionist regime, claimed in a statement that they agreed to the U.S. proposal for a 15-day ceasefire during the first half of Ramadan in exchange for the release of their captives, but Hamas did not accept it. Therefore, they cannot move forward with the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
On the other hand, Netanyahu, relying on Trump’s support, has directly and indirectly threatened the people of Gaza and the Hamas movement with the opening of the gates of hell in the Middle East and the resumption of war if the remaining Israeli captives in Gaza, estimated to be around 60, are not released.
However, contrary to all the statements and remarks made by officials of the Zionist regime against the Hamas movement for not accepting the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, it must be noted that the military of this occupying and illegitimate regime has never adhered to the humanitarian protocols of the Gaza ceasefire agreement during the implementation of the first phase and has prevented the entry of necessary aid into Gaza.
An important issue in this regard is the action of the Zionist regime’s army in returning all fuel-carrying trucks from the Karam Abu Salem crossing in the southeastern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s spokesperson announced yesterday that no trucks have entered Gaza since last Saturday, and none will enter during this phase either.
This comes as a military correspondent for i24NEWS, the Zionist network, reported that the Zionist regime’s army is gradually preparing to return to the Gaza Strip. According to this report, the "Israeli" regime’s army will initially resume its aggression against the Gaza Strip with airstrikes, followed by artillery, and finally with a ground invasion.
Accordingly, Al Jazeera reported yesterday that Palestinian sources confirmed intense artillery attacks by the Zionist regime against the Al-Qarara and Abasan areas in the east of Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip. These attacks also targeted the eastern region of Juhor ad-Dik and the Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip. Additionally, it was reported that the regime’s warships fired towards the shores of Gaza City.
On the other hand, Al-Manar network also reported that the Zionist regime’s drones targeted areas in the east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, resulting in at least one martyr and several injuries. This indicates that the Zionist regime is gradually preparing to resume the war in the Gaza Strip.
Finally, Netanyahu’s obstruction of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange process has led to sharp criticisms from political figures within the Zionist regime in response to his ongoing sabotage. Former officials and leaders of opposition parties have accused Netanyahu of deceit, lack of planning, and prioritizing personal political interests over collective interests.
