TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Kata'ib Hezbollah group warned in a statement one day after the attack on its headquarters in the Al-Doura area of Baghdad about conspiratorial actions aimed at creating chaos in the country, stating: "Kata'ib Hezbollah emphasizes that it had no role in this conflict and that the escalation of the situation serves the enemies of Iraq, driven by destructive agendas seeking to divide the nation and push state institutions into war."

Kata'ib further added: "Biased media campaigns, mercenary pens, and the malicious influence of certain foreign figures within the government, as well as the embassy of the devil in Baghdad, will not deter us from our firm stance and decisive decision to expel the occupying forces from Iraqi soil, regardless of the high cost or great sacrifices required."

Recent unrest in Baghdad began after two people were killed in an armed clash near Iraq's Ministry of Agriculture on Saturday, though no group claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the U.S. Embassy in Iraq immediately accused Kata'ib Hezbollah of the attack and called for action against this resistance group.

Meanwhile, in today's statement, Kata'ib stressed that the mentioned clash had no connection to the group's leadership and was more of a personal dispute that escalated into an armed confrontation.

Following the clash, part of the Iraqi Interior Ministry's security forces raided Kata'ib Hezbollah's headquarters, injuring several members and arresting 14 others. In its statement, Kata'ib Hezbollah emphasized: "We once again express our deep regret for the casualties and violations that occurred as a result of the chaos and confusion in coordination witnessed by the security services. This is something that foreign forces, who infiltrate joint operations and maliciously exploit to advance their goals of igniting sedition, take advantage of."

This conspiracy against Kata'ib Hezbollah comes as the Iraqi parliament held its second session last Wednesday to review the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) law, completing discussions on the draft. Hours earlier, the Iraqi parliament's defense committee announced that the PMF law was ready for voting and that there was an approach to reintroduce it in the parliamentary session.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy publicly opposed this law in a statement, and elements close to the Americans in Iraq launched a propaganda campaign and psychological war to pressure the parliament and the Baghdad government into retreating from this law.

An Iraqi media outlet reported that U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio, in his recent conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, outlined Washington's red lines regarding relations with Baghdad concerning the new PMF law.

In recent days, Iraq has witnessed various unrests, in addition to the suspicious shooting incident at the Ministry of Agriculture that led to the recent clashes on the 24th in Baghdad, as sabotage and terrorist acts have occurred in other parts of the country, which may potentially pave the way for hostile movements against the Axis of Resistance.
