Iraq's Special Operation Against Terrorist Elements in Syria

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to al-Mayadeen, the head of the information department of the Iraqi security forces, Saad Ma'an, said: "These forces succeeded in carrying out a special operation inside the territory of Syria, and its implementation represents a major change in the Iraqi intelligence service."

He stated: The 2 people arrested in Syria are considered as the main link in the transfer of weapons and terrorist elements to the borders of Iraq.

Ma'an clarified that the recent security operation against these two elements in Syria took place after monitoring their detailed information during the past five months. They were responsible for transferring terrorist elements and weapons from camps located in Syria to Iraq.

He stated that this operation was carried out with high speed and accuracy and good security arrangements were made with the Syrian parties.

Last Thursday, the Iraqi security forces announced that this operation was carried out in Syria.
