New Iraqi President's Stance on Regional Developments

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al-Maluma, the Iraqi elected President, Nizar Amidi, said in his speech on Saturday: "A great responsibility has been handed on me. I understand the magnitude of the challenges facing the country."

He added: "I emphasize my commitment to cooperate with the three powers. We welcome the efforts to end the war."

Amidi said: "The attacks on Iraq are condemned. We will work to defend the interests of the people of this country. Iraq is facing complex problems in various fields."

He was sworn in as president of the country yesterday in the Iraqi parliament after being elected.

It should be noted that the American occupiers repeatedly bombed the headquarters of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, violating the security agreement signed with Baghdad.
