US Bases Suffer $50 Billion in Damage

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Zionist media reported on the staggering cost of the US confrontation with Iran and announced that Washington is trying to prevent the publication of accurate statistics on its financial losses. The Ma'ariv wrote in a report: Damages worth $50 billion are the same picture that the US Department of War (Pentagon) tried to hide regarding the war against Iran.

Meanwhile, Jules J. Hearst, the top financial official of the US Department of War, said on Wednesday at the US House of Representatives Armed Forces hearing that the country's military has spent about $25 billion since the start of the war with Iran in late February.

CNN reported, citing three sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, that the $25 billion estimate was a low estimate that did not include the cost of repairing extensive damage to U.S. bases in the Middle East.

Another source said that when the cost of rebuilding U.S. military installations and replacing destroyed assets is factored in, the true cost estimate for the war is closer to $40 billion to $50 billion.
