Begging for Ceasefire with Palestinians Indicates Demise of Israel's Power

TEHRAN (defapress)- Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said Israel has proved to be an arrogant regime that would go on the offensive if it finds itself powerful enough, adding that Tel Aviv's strong request for ceasefire with the Palestinians after two days of war, hence, showed that the regime's power has sorely decreased.

Begging for Ceasefire with Palestinians Indicates Demise of Israel's Power"The victory of the Palestinian people in recent years does not mean that they can form a government in Tel Aviv now, but of course this will also be materialized with God's help; but the main victory was that the Zionist regime that was invincible to the Arab armies was brought to its knees by the Palestinian people and resistance groups, and God willing, you will have greater victories too," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance group Ziyad Rashid al-Nakhalah in Tehran on Monday.

He referred to Israel's demand for ceasefire in the past two wars against the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance groups, and said, "In the last battle (in November), ceasefire was requested (by Israel) after 48 hours and this means that the usurper Zionist regime has been brought to its knees."

Ayatollah Khamenei described resistance as the important cause of the Palestinian nation's victories in recent years, and said, "In future and as long as the resistance exists, the process of the Zionist regime's demise will continue."

Al-Nakhalah, for his part, stressed that the Palestinian resistance is more powerful than the past, and added, "If a war breaks out, Tel Aviv and all cities and towns of the Zionist regime will be within the range of thousands of resistance missiles."

At least seven Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on the coastal enclave of Gaza in November, in the worst violence between the two sides since the 2014 war.

The latest escalation erupted when Israel launched a botched raid in Gaza that killed seven other Palestinians and one of its commanders.

Hamas and other armed factions fired hundreds of rockets or mortar bombs at Israel, with Israel responding with dozens of air raids.

Israelis signed into a ceasefire with Hamas after a barrage of resistance missile attacks on Southern occupied territories killed and injured tens of Israelis.

The Israeli government decision to accept the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire, prompted its minister for military affairs Avigdor Lieberman to resign. Hamas called the resignation, which could bring about early elections in the occupied lands, as “an admission of defeat” and a “political victory” for the Palestinian resistance.
