French Company to Protect NATO Headquarters
TEHRAN (Defapress) - The French company CS Group has won the contract to protect NATO’s headquarters in Brussels from drones, as well as the residence of the alliance’s Secretary General, after a fierce competition between dozens of international companies.

The core of the project is the BOREADES anti-drone system, a system that France has been developing for years to counter the threat of small drones and infiltration of sensitive centers. The system first came to attention after drones were observed flying near sensitive French facilities in 2015 and later entered service as part of the MILAD military program.
The full technical details of the system are classified, but according to the manufacturer, BOREADES can detect, disrupt, and even control drones, determining their trajectory and identifying the location of the drone operator. The system uses multi-range radars, thermal and optical sensors, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality technology, and can be used either stationary or mobile.
The French company CS Group announced that the final stage of selecting this system included real and simultaneous field tests in an operational environment, and BOREADES was able to attract NATO's attention in terms of performance, stability, and ability to operate in complex environments.
According to the report, one of the most important advantages of this system is its modular structure, which allows for rapid updating and adaptation to new drone threats; an issue that has become more important given the expansion of the military use of drones in the Ukrainian war and other crises.
It is worth noting that this 10-year contract strengthens France's position in the field of anti-drone defense technologies in Europe.
