Iran Will Respond to Any Hostile Action in the Field

Salar Velayatmadar, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, in an interview with the Defapress correspondent, referring to the recent resolution of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency against Iran, stated: The Americans think that by issuing a resolution and creating a political atmosphere against the Islamic Republic, they can change the equations of the field. At the same time, the era of pressure without cost against Iran has ended, and any action against the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a proportionate and regrettable response.

Velayatmadar said: The resolution of the Board of Governors does not create anything new in the calculations of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States and some European countries have been trying to use the capacity of international institutions to pressure Iran for years and are following the same path today, but experience has shown that this pressure cannot change the will of the Iranian people.

He added: If the Americans think that they can pressure Iran with a few votes in the Board of Governors, they have made a miscalculation. Iran is not a country that regulates its foreign policy and national security based on the political resolutions of Western powers.

The member of the National Security Commission of the Parliament emphasized: What is important for the Islamic Republic of Iran is to preserve national interests and ensure the country's security, and in this direction, Iran will never allow the other side to determine the country's fate by politically using international institutions.

Velayatmadar, referring to the vote of the Board of Governors, said: The Americans are trying to present an image of a global consensus against Iran, while the reality of the vote does not show such a thing. Russia and China have opposed this resolution, and a number of members of the Board of Governors have also abstained.

He continued: Therefore, one should not confuse American psychological operations with the political reality of the world. Today, many countries oppose America's unilateral policy, and the world is passing through an order in which Washington thought it could decide on the security issues of other countries.

The member of the National Security Commission of the Parliament stated: “The US’s goal with these measures is to create a political and media narrative against the Islamic Republic, rather than changing the existing realities; a narrative in which Iran is presented as a threat so that the subsequent actions of the US and the Zionist regime appear justifiable to public opinion and some governments.”

Velayatmadar said: “But the problem here is that the political narrative does not replace real power. If the Americans think that by issuing a resolution they can ignore Iran’s defense, missile, and regional power, they are definitely making a miscalculation.”

He added: “Iran today is different from the Iran of the past few years. The Islamic Republic has experienced political pressure, sanctions, threats, and war, and the other side knows very well that any action against Iran will not be without cost.”

Regarding the possibility of the US using the resolution of the Board of Governors to justify military action, Velayatmadar also stated: The US may try to use this resolution as part of its psychological warfare and legitimization operations, but issuing a resolution of the Board of Governors does not mean issuing a license for a military attack.

He emphasized: If the US or the Zionist regime wants to use this space to justify military action, they should know that Iran will not wait for another resolution to defend itself. The Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right to defend its security and territorial integrity and will respond to aggression in the field.

A member of the National Security Commission of the Parliament noted: Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran does not face international developments from a position of weakness. We are neither afraid of the resolution nor will we allow political pressure to affect the country's strategic decisions.

Velayatmadar continued: The other side should know that the more it insists on the path of pressure and threats, the more costs it will incur.

He said: Americans should distinguish between “political pressure” and “changing Iranian behavior.” They may be able to issue a resolution, but they cannot destroy Iran’s power with a resolution, and they cannot put the will of the Iranian people to a vote.

Velayatmadar emphasized: The Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek war, but it is not afraid of war either, and is prepared for any scenario. Iran will plan and make policies based on its national interests and in line with the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution; if the enemy thinks they can achieve results through pressure and threats, Iran’s response will be clear to them.
