TEHRAN (Defapress) - Iran’s Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminiya - In the war between Iran and the United States, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on the experience of the past war and changes in methods, tactics, equipment, and technologies, have upgraded their deterrent capability and their approach to confronting threats. Today, we possess a significantly higher deterrent power compared to the past. We have refined and upgraded our warfare methods and tactics and adopted an offensive military doctrine.

Based on this doctrine, whenever the enemy commits aggression against any point in our country, such as points in the south of the country that were targeted in recent weeks, we will respond with greater intensity and broader scope; of course, in some instances, we have also taken preemptive war measures against enemy positions.

The operations carried out by the Armed Forces against the positions of counter-revolutionaries and separatist groups in the Kurdistan Region were examples of preemptive warfare to seize the initiative and deter the enemy from any action. These actions and preemptive operations were entirely within the framework of international law and the United Nations Charter, as they possessed the principles of proportionality, urgency, and necessity. The preemptive actions we took were completely deterrent, and we were able to deter the enemy from any aggression and prevent enemy actions against the country's western borders.

The changes we have achieved today in the methods, tactics, equipment, and technologies of the Armed Forces stem from the experiences of the past war as well as the continuation of the ongoing war. The enemy's aggressive nature, which has not adhered to any international rules or human rights, was influential in these changes. The combination of these factors led us to the point that, to deter the enemy, we must refine our tactics, methods, and military doctrine.

The Role of Iranian Army Forces in the War

Army Ground Force: The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran performed very powerfully in this war. In a very swift and decisive action, the Ground Force of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran was deployed along all land borders. Today, all land borders are under the coverage of the elite Iranian Army, and this very factor caused the enemy to be deterred from a ground invasion of Iranian territory and to lack the courage for such an action.

Army Air Defense: The Air Defense of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the country's Joint Air Defense Headquarters, which operates under the command of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and holds operational control over the Army Air Defense Force and the Air Defense Command of the IRGC Aerospace Force, succeeded in making the country's airspace unsafe for enemy aircraft and drones by shooting down and crashing enemy aerial vehicles. From the early days of the war until the end of the war and today, this mastery over the country's airspace by the Joint Air Defense Headquarters has increased, and the enemy has rarely dared to commit aerial aggression.

Army Navy: Contrary to the enemy's claim of having destroyed the Iranian Navy, the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran today controls the area from the east of the Strait of Hormuz to the northern Indian Ocean. All vessels navigating in this region and all vessels present in the Sea of Oman are under the surveillance of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Enemy vessels, including aircraft carriers and destroyers, did not dare to approach our shores and still do not today. The reason for this is the dominance of the powerful Navy over that region, which has been able to establish its authority there by launching drones and firing missiles.

Army Air Force: The Air Force of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran also carried out highly effective and crushing operations against U.S. bases in the region immediately two days after the start of the war. The Buehring base in Kuwait was targeted by the Air Force's F-5s, and the U.S. base in Qatar was targeted by the Sukhois of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Air Force fighters also repeatedly targeted the bases of counter-revolutionaries and separatists in Iraqi Kurdistan and played a very effective role in the war. Today, this readiness continues to exist in the Air Force, both in terms of fighter jets and drones.

The Enemy's Surprise at Iran's Capability

The enemy was surprised due to numerous calculation errors regarding the capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, both software and hardware, in various areas. The enemy was surprised by the response capability of the Armed Forces. In addition, the structural capability of the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran astonished the enemy.

These capabilities were so extensive that no country allowed itself to cooperate with the United States. Even Western allies of the United States and NATO members were unwilling to accompany the U.S. President in this aggression and violation.

At the beginning of the war, the enemy faced several surprising issues. The first was the presence and support of the people for the Islamic system. Trump had claimed that with the start of the war, people would take to the streets and overthrow the system. He claimed he had launched this military attack to help the Iranian people, but the enemy was astonished in this regard.

The collection of experiences from the past war and the ongoing war, alongside changes in methods, tactics, equipment, and technologies, has driven the Armed Forces toward refining their military doctrine. The result of this process is an increase in deterrent capability and readiness to respond to any violation or aggression, a deterrence that today is formed on the basis of seizing the initiative, preemptive warfare, and a broader response capability.
