Again Netanyahu blocked the truce path

TEHRAN (Defapress) - While the United States, Qatar, and Egypt announced in a joint statement on Friday that technical delegations would continue negotiations to resolve outstanding points regarding an agreement leading to a ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to be obstructing any understandings, even partial ones, regarding alleviating the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, including the agreement on reopening the Rafah crossing.

According to the sources, the head of the occupation government, through his negotiating delegation during the Doha negotiations, rejected a proposal that was approved and blessed by both Egypt and the United States to operate the Rafah crossing.

Although the proposal included measures and guarantees that Washington pledged to monitor to prevent the resistance and Hamas from using it for military purposes, Netanyahu insisted on his rejection, stipulating an Israeli role in monitoring the operation.

According to the information, it was decided to announce the activation of the agreement, and to set a clear date for the proposal to enter into force at the end of the Doha Round, before Netanyahu opposed it, insisting on conditions described by Egyptian and American circles as “stubborn.”

In contrast, Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas political bureau in Gaza, confirmed that the resistance "will not allow, in any way, the presence of the occupation in any part of the Gaza Strip," denying in media statements on Friday the veracity of reports regarding an Israeli readiness to withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor.

Hamad explained that Tel Aviv "wants to leave a loophole in the agreement so that it can return to war at a later time."
