Borrell calls for global action to end human tragedy in Gaza
TEHRAN (Defapress) - Josep Borrell has released a statement emphasizing what he describes as "the urgent necessity to respect" international humanitarian law in Gaza.
"By ratifying the Geneva Conventions, the signatory states bear a legal obligation to ensure that all parties comply with international law. It is imperative that we safeguard civilians and uphold human rights, and immediate action is required," he stated.
"The limited information emerging from North Gaza continues to reveal a devastating scale of fatalities, destruction, and famine, alongside the forced displacement of civilians. An entire population is enduring bombardments, a blockade, and the threat of starvation while being compelled to choose between displacement or death," he remarked.
