TEHRAN (Defapress) - The World Food Programme has issued warnings regarding an impending famine in Gaza, exacerbated by Israel's ongoing restrictions on the entry of food and humanitarian aid.
According to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), merely 971 humanitarian trucks were permitted to enter the Gaza Strip via the primary Karem Abu Salem crossing in the southern region from October 1 to 27.
This equates to a daily average of just 36 humanitarian trucks, significantly lower than the pre-war average of 500 trucks per day.
In other words, almost no assistance has reached the inhabitants of northern Gaza, who remain encircled by an Israeli blockade that is approaching a month in duration.
