TEHRAN (Defapress) - 3 days after the UN Special Committee's findings, the Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei commented on Sunday that the Israeli war on Gaza is similar to genocide, with deliberate harm inflicted on Palestinian civilians.

Iran condemns UK's refusal to acknowledge Gaza genocide as unacceptable

Baghaei stated on X social media platform that the UN Special Committee's conclusion of Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide is just another affirmation of previous statements made by other UN bodies.

The spokesman added that the UK’s unprecedented refusal to acknowledge an ongoing extravagant genocide is what stands out.

Baghaei stated that the UK foreign secretary's refusal to acknowledge genocide in Gaza aligns with the government's consistent supply of deadly weapons and political backing to the genocidal apartheid regime, implicating the UK in the violence and resulting in international accountability for not fulfilling its legal obligations under the Genocide Convention.

He added that the acceptance of genocide is very shocking and reflects a colonial mindset that is resurfacing in Europe through anti-Palestinian racism and Islamophobia.
