TEHRAN (Defapress) - Despite over a week having passed since the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement between the Zionist regime and Hamas, the occupying regime of Jerusalem continues to prevent the entry of goods and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip under the pretext of the Palestinian Resistance group’s opposition to the proposal by Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy to the region, to extend the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire.

However, Al Jazeera also reported yesterday that since the start of the Zionist regime’s ground operation in Rafah in southern Gaza in May, the amount of humanitarian aid entering the Strip has significantly decreased. The primary reason for this is the occupation of the Rafah crossing by the Zionist regime’s army on May 7.

Meanwhile, Tedros Adhanom, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), wrote on his account on X: Only 5 WHO trucks carrying medicine for Palestinians managed to enter Gaza last week. This is while 34 trucks carrying medical supplies remain in Al-Arish, the Egyptian city closest to the Rafah crossing, and 40 trucks are in Ismailia in northeastern Egypt, awaiting permission to enter Gaza.

On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) responded to the Zionist regime’s actions to prevent the entry of goods and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, stating that the statement by the office of Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the occupying and terrorist regime of Israel, regarding the acceptance of U.S. proposals to extend the first phase of the agreement based on arrangements contrary to the Gaza ceasefire, is unacceptable.

All these events are unfolding as the Zionist newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth wrote that Israel’s goal in halting the entry of humanitarian aid and goods into the Gaza Strip is to increase pressure on Hamas to accelerate negotiations [regarding the extension of the first phase]. The newspaper also noted that delaying tactics do not favor Tel Aviv, pointing out that Israeli captives remain in Hamas’ custody, suffering from their captivity.

Meanwhile, the media office of the Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip, in response to Netanyahu’s actions to prevent the entry of goods and humanitarian aid into the Strip, stated that preventing the entry of aid into Gaza means starving the residents of the Strip, who are entirely dependent on this aid.

Abdul Latif al-Qanou, a spokesperson for Hamas, stated that the continued closure of border crossings by Israel and the prevention of humanitarian aid from entering Gaza is a method of genocide and a war crime, necessitating international intervention. He added that the intensification of the blockade on Gaza, the closure of border crossings for the 6th day, and the prevention of aid entry are among the methods of genocide being imposed on our people.

In this context, Seyyed Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, warned that if the Zionist regime continues to prevent the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza within the next 4 days, the group’s maritime operations against Israel will resume. He emphasized that the Zionist regime has reneged on its commitments regarding humanitarian aid, while our brothers in Hamas have fully adhered to their commitments under the agreement.

The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Zionist regime, which was aimed at reducing tensions in the Gaza Strip, is on the verge of collapse due to Tel Aviv’s refusal to implement the second phase. The Zionist regime’s decision to call up 400,000 reserve forces and halt the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza has increased the likelihood of a resumption of war and has prompted reactions from regional Resistance groups, including Yemen’s Ansar Allah.
