TEHRAN (Defapress) - After the Zionist regime attacked and raided the Sumud Flotilla and stopped them and prevented these ships from moving towards the Gaza Strip, news and reports received indicate that hundreds of passengers of the Sumud convoy were arrested by the Israeli army and transferred to the regime's prisons in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Sumud Flotilla: Victim of Zionist Regime Violence and Repression

In the meantime, numerous reports have been published by human rights institutions and organizations and eyewitnesses, all of which indicate the inhumane treatment of the Zionist regime of detainees of the Sumud convoy. These behaviors include torture, deprivation of food and water, poor prison conditions, and physical and psychological abuse.

The human rights activists of the Sumud Flotilla, who were detained by the Zionist regime, reported that they were being held in Israeli prisons, such as the Katziut prison (which is a symbol of torture and inhuman treatment of Palestinian prisoners). According to this report, Greta Thunberg is one of the most famous and prominent human rights activists who is being held in a bedbug-filled cell with very little water and food.

As we learned about the latest situation of Greta Thunberg, she complained of dehydration, inadequate food intake, and harsh treatment, and has developed rashes and skin allergies due to the bedbugs in her cell. In addition, the Zionist forces have pulled her hair, beaten her, and forced her to kiss the Zionist flag, in violation of international laws and conventions!

Of course, the torture and harassment of the Zionist forces against the human rights activists present in the Sumud fleet did not end there. In the case of "Greta Thunberg" in particular, it should be said that she was wrapped in the regime's flag and displayed like a trophy. In addition, the Israeli forces left the detainees without water and food for hours, and "Greta Thunberg" was only given a packet of chips in front of the cameras.

On the other hand, the detained activists are deprived of all their basic rights. In fact, it should be said that the detainees are deprived of access to water, health, medicine, and legal representation. There have also been reports of verbal and physical harassment, and deliberate prevention of their sleep by the Zionist forces. In addition, "Itamar Ben-Gvir", the Minister of Internal Security of the Zionist regime, has also called the detainees "terrorists".

But the interesting thing about the international activists of the Sumud convoy who were detained by the Zionist regime is that we are witnessing the publication of new posts on X, which report similar claims, such as the torture of Greta Thunberg and the brutal treatment of the activists. This has led international institutions and organizations to condemn these actions and describe them as a “terrorist act” to continue the famine in Gaza.

Turkish activist and one of the participants in the Sumud Flotilla, Arsin Celik, told the Anadolu Agency that they grabbed Greta Thunberg by the hair in front of our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her to serve as a warning to others.

Journalist Lorenzo D’Agostino, another participant in the Samud flotilla, said after returning to Istanbul that Thunberg was “wrapped in an Israeli flag and paraded like a trophy of war,” a scene that witnesses described with disbelief and anger. Thunberg is one of 437 activists, parliamentarians, and lawyers who were part of the Samud global flotilla, a coalition of more than 40 humanitarian aid ships that aimed to break Israel’s 16-year naval blockade of Gaza.

Finally, the Israeli regime’s treatment of the detained members of the Samud flotilla is an example of systematic violations of human rights and international law. These measures have not only blocked humanitarian aid but have also exposed international activists to torture and humiliation. Accordingly, international organizations such as the United Nations and governments must take action to release those detained and hold the Israeli regime accountable immediately.
