Gaza Peace Council, Trump's Arbitrary and Dangerous Plan

TEHRAN (Defapress) - The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced in a press conference the formation of a so-called Gaza Peace Council, stating that it is the largest council ever established. The US President, while declaring his Headship over the new Gaza Peace Council, emphasized the need for the complete disarm of Hamas and the support for a technocrat government to govern the strip.

The so-called Gaza Peace Council is an international transitional body established within the framework of US President Donald Trump's 20-point plan to end the Gaza war and manage the region after a ceasefire. It was formalized by UN Security Council Resolution 803 in November 2025.

Donald Trump, after holding a press conference and announcing the formation of the Gaza Peace Council on Truth, wrote: "I am proud to announce the formation of the Gaza Peace Council. The members of this council will introduced soon. But I declare that council is the largest and most genuine ever established."

In the same vein, the White House announced the members of the Gaza Peace Council in a statement on Saturday. The members of the council include individuals such as the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, the U.S. Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, the son-in-law and advisor to Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, the former Prime Minister of the UK, Tony Blair, the President of the World Bank, Ajay Banga, and an investor and CEO of AppoloGlobal Management, Mark Rowan.

Additionally, according to the White House announcement, certain individuals and countries have been selected as members of the "Regional Executive Body", including Turkey, UAE, Qatar, and Egypt.

While Al Mayadeen published a report yesterday stating that the Islamic Jihad Movement of Palestine issued a statement announcing that the structure of the so-called Gaza Peace Council, which was declared by the United States, serves the interests and demands of the Zionist regime. The statement declared the Islamic Jihad Movement of Palestine has its commitments in the first phase of ceasefire agreement and is ready to move to the second phase despite Tel Aviv's and continuous violations of this agreement.

However, the key point in this context is that Palestinian groups initially agreed with the technocrat committee's plan in Gaza, but after US President Donald Trump announced the structure of the so-called Gaza Peace Council in his press conference on Friday, Palestinian groups, including and the Islamic Jihad Movement of Palestine, a statement declaring that the Peace Council structure reflects a negative intent regarding the ceasefire agreement.

Palestinian groups believe that the structure and manner of the Gaza Peace Council, considering that it is composed mainly of American, UK officials, and some other Washington allies, is only effective on paper, and in practice it fully supports the aggressive and occupying goals and plans of the Zionist regime.

In conclusion, we must note that the Zionist regime and Hamas agreed, on October 9th, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, United States, and Turkey, to implement the first phase of the proposed peace plan of the US President. A ceasefire in Gaza was implemented from October 10th. According to this agreement, the occupying forces withdrew from the central areas of Gaza to the "Yellow Line," but they still occupy half of Gaza. Furthermore, since the Gaza ceasefire, the Zionist regime has violated the ceasefire thousands of times and attacked this area.
