Hakim criticizes Trump's Stance Against Iraqi Prime Ministerial Candidate

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the official Iraqi News Agency (INA), Sayed Ammar Hakim, the leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, while emphasizing the need to adhere to the constitutional timelines, called for the election of a president and finding appropriate solutions to overcome the political deadlock.

He criticized US President Donald Trump's recent statements against Nouri al-Maliki, the candidate of the Shiite Coordination Framework for the post of Prime Minister.

Referring to the situation in the region, Hakim also said that the region is witnessing an escalation of tension and the presence of war preparations around it, and this, along with the developments in Syria, could cause serious damage to Iraq.

US President Donald Trump has recently announced his opposition to al-Maliki's candidacy for the post of Prime Minister by adopting an interventionist stance in Iraq's internal affairs. This issue has led to a wave of negative reactions in Iraq.
