Iran's permanent UN ambassador to Iran, Gholamali
Khoshroo, called for the disarmament of nuclear-weapon states to be
disarmed,according to a press release from the International Press Center.
During the UN General Assembly session, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the United Nations to the United Nations addressed the issue of the "International Court of Justice" report on the capacity of the Legal Coordinator of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Gholamali Khosro, referring to the NAM's principled position on the peaceful resolution of disputes and the non-use of force, said that the International Court of Justice has an important role in promoting and encouraging the peaceful settlement of disputes.
He also said that the Non-Aligned Movement is calling on the United Nations to seek legal advice from the Court of Justice in legal matters related to its legal activities.
Honored with reference to the Court's deliberative vote on the lack of legitimacy of the threat or the use of nuclear weapons, he called for the disarmament of the nuclear-weapon States.
Ambassador of Iran, referring to the court's decision on the legal effects of building a retaining wall in the occupied territories, called for the end of the occupation to be in line with respect and guaranteeing the deliberative judgment of the Court.
