Iran summons Tajik envoy over anti-Iran accusationsTEHRAN (Defapress)-Foreign Ministry summoned Tajik ambassdor to Tehran on Wednesday to express strong protest over baseless and unfounded accusations made by Tajikistan's interior ministry against Iran regarding the terror of cyclists in that country, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghassemi.

Iran has also expressed readiness to share all its experience and equipment to fight Takfiri terrorism and extremism to stabilize peace and security in the region, Ghassemi added.

Tajik envoy for his part said that he would immediately convey Iran’s protest to his country.

A car ran down a group of touring cyclists in the Central Asian state of Tajikistan over the weekend, killing four people from the United States, the Netherlands and Switzerland, in a terror attack claimed by ISIL on Monday. Tajikistan had claimed that these terrorists had been trained in Iran.

Ghasemi had earlier condemned this terrorist attack as well as the accusations leveled against Iran, saying, "the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly denies any link with this incident and the existence of any base inside its territory for training [terrorists to carry out] acts of sabotage."
