Iran Capable of Exporting Radar SystemsSpeaking at a TV program on Saturday night, Brigadier General Amir Hatami said Iran has made great progress in developing electronic warfare systems and radars with various ranges.

Making a reference to a recent missile attack that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched against terror groups in Syria in retaliation for a terrorist attack in the city of Ahvaz, the minister said the precise missile strike and the drone images taken during the operation required high-quality optical devices which have been all manufactured inside the country.

According to General Hatami, even a number of countries with advanced military technologies have been willing to import Iranian radar gear.

He also pointed to plans to strengthen the combat capabilities of Iranian Armed Forces, saying the rapid reaction units are going to be equipped with advanced equipment.

“We have a detailed plan to upgrade the country’s missile power and pursue plans to boost the quality, precision and power of missiles,” he added.

The defense minister then branded the US president and secretary of state as dirty liars who seek to undermine Iran’s national unity.

His comments came on the eve of coming into force of a new round of US sanctions against Iran.

On May 8, US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the JCPOA, which was achieved in Vienna in 2015 after years of negotiations among Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

The US has also re-imposed sanctions on Iran and has devised a new wave of economic sanctions, which are aimed at pushing Iran’s oil exports down to zero.
