Syrian Kurds Deny Trump’s Statement on Selling Oil to Iran“Not a drop of oil from Northern Syria has been sold to Iran,” Redur Khalil, head of SDF foreign relations, told Iranian media.

He explained that the areas under their control has no border with Iran, and that they do no not produce oil more than the public demand as there are no refineries in the region, as reported by Kurdistan 24.

Earlier the week, Trump said his country was not happy about the Kurds selling the “small oil” they have to Iran while Washington is sanctioning Tehran government.

“The Kurds – it’s very interesting. Turkey doesn’t like them. Other people do. I didn’t like the fact that they’re selling the small oil that they have to Iran. And we asked them not to sell it to Iran. But the Kurds, our partners, are selling oil to Iran. We’re not thrilled about that,” Trump stated.

Iran is one of the world's top oil producers with over 3mln barrels per day of crude exports before it came under the United States' cruel sanctions that have forced Tehran's shipments to 2mln.
