Daesh suicide attack kills 5, injures 8 in northern Syria

TEHRAN(defapress)– The suicide attack conducted by Daesh (ISIS) terrorists in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria has claimed the lives of 5 and injured 8 more.

Daesh suicide attack kills 5, injures 8 in northern SyriaA suicide bomber using an explosive belt detonated himself near the Kurdish forces' checkpoint in Raqqa on Monday, Russian media ' RT Arabic', quoted the Syrian Human Rights watch as saying.

A Kurd force and four civilians were killed in this attack, Syrian HRW added.

The Human Rights body went on to say that due to the serious condition of the injured people, the number of casualties are subject to increase.

The terrorist group Daesh has claimed the responsibility of Raqqa deadly attack.

Earlier, head of Raqqa Medical Association Jamal Al-Isa said that every day, more crimes are discovered from Daesh terrorist group and the illegal Western coalition led by the United States in Raqqa.

After transfer of Daesh terrorists from Raqqa, the US coalition conducted blind bombardment on the city and destroyed 85% of it, he added.

Some 4,000 dead bodies have so far been discovered in mass graves, he noted.

Raqqa also called Raqa, Rakka and Al-Raqqah, once the stronghold of ISIS in Syria, is a city located on the northeast bank of the Euphrates River, about 160 km east of Aleppo. It is located 40 km east of the Tabqa Dam, Syria's largest dam.

Syrian Army expelled Daesh terrorists from western and southern Raqqa in summer 2017 and took control of the city which is 368 kilometers to northeast of the capital, Damascus.
