Resistance Only Way to Fight Aggressors

In his message on Sunday, President Rouhani extended his congratulations over the anniversary of liberating Southern Lebanon, saying that resistance is the only way to stand against aggressors.

He congratulated the Lebanese people on the liberation of Southern Lebanon from the yoke of the Israeli regime, saying that the aggressive nature of the Zionist regime indicated that the only way to fight aggressors is resistance.

Rouhani also underlined Iran's readiness to stand beside the Lebanese army and people for establishing unity and defending Lebanon, wishing dignity, health and success for the Lebanese people.

In a relevant development earlier this year, Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Jalal Firouznia in a meeting with Lebanon's caretaker Minister of Defense Yaacoub Sarraf reassured that Tehran would continue backing security and stability in the Arab country.

During the meeting, Firouznia and Sarraf conferred on regional developments and the status of bilateral cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on Tehran-Beirut bilateral ties, discussing ways to increase mutual cooperation.

Firouznia highlighted Iran’s support for security and stability of Lebanon, adding that Tehran was ready to boost defense cooperation with Beirut in all grounds.
