Iran, Syria Discuss Mutual Cooperation, Regional DevelopmentsDuring the meeting in the Iranian capital today, Jahangiri and Khamis explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral relations at different levels.

Iran’s first vice president and the Syrian prime minister also held talks on the regional developments.

Jahangiri officially welcomed the Syrian prime minister at Tehran’s Sa'adabad Cultural-Historical Complex on Monday morning.

Khamis, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Tehran on Sunday evening.

The visit by the Syrian delegation aims at discussing bilateral ties and the latest regional and international developments, as well as offering condolences to senior Iranian officials over the martyrdom of commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

The Syrian delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem, as well as that country’s Defense Minister Ali Ayyoyb.
