TEHRAN (Defapress) - On September 5, Benoît Huou delivered a speech lasting several minutes regarding an article published in the esteemed international health journal, The Lancet. This article estimated that nearly 200,000 Palestinians have lost their lives due to Israeli military operations since the onset of 2023.
Huou emphasized the age range of the Palestinian victims, stating, “This tragedy affects everyone, from children to the elderly. At 35 years of age, I have never witnessed such devastation and such an imbalanced conflict.”
He asserted, “The current situation did not originate on October 7, and it is misleading to attribute the ongoing events solely to Hamas.” The professor advocated for a boycott of the Israeli government.
“I prefer not to discuss the events of October 7; however, nothing can justify the massacre of a civilian population as we are currently witnessing,” he remarked, criticizing the “implicit support” provided by the French government to the occupying forces.
The French professor has been suspended due to this speech.
