This statement comes amid reports from Reuters, citing "sources familiar with the matter," that the Trump administration is exploring a strategy to halt and inspect Iranian oil tankers at sea.

US Ambition to Halt Iran's Crude Oil Sales Deemed Unattainable

President Trump has revived the so-called maximum pressure campaign, which seeks to "isolate Iran from the global economy and reduce its oil exports to zero," with the ultimate goal of preventing the country from acquiring nuclear weapons. 

However, the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently maintained that this campaign will fail to achieve its objectives, just as it did during Trump's first term in office.
