UK Will Recognize Palestine Today

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, The Telegraph wrote that English Prime Minister Keir Starmer will issue a statement on Sunday in which he will announce his determination to recognize the independent state of Palestine.

The Telegraph further added: To calm criticism of his decision to recognize Palestine, he will impose new sanctions on Hamas.

Portugal previously announced that it would recognize the independent state of Palestine on Sunday.

French President Emmanuel Macron also announced on Friday night that his country would recognize the independent state of Palestine at the United Nations on Monday of this week.

He emphasized that he had again announced to Mahmoud Abbas that France would recognize the Palestinian state "on Monday in New York."

The AFP news agency also reported, citing the Elysee Palace, that in addition to France, nine other countries will recognize the Palestinian state during the New York conference on Monday.
