Enhancing Defense Capability is on the Iranian Army's Agenda

TEHRAN (Defapress) - The head and members of the Parliament's Planning, Budget, and Audit Commission, during a visit to the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, met and held talks with the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Major General Amir Hatami.

In this meeting, Major General Hatami, referring to the longstanding hostility of the United States and the Zionist regime towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated: The enmity of global arrogance led by the United States and the Zionist regime towards the Islamic Republic of Iran is longstanding and dates back to the early days of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. They have employed all their capabilities, and as we have progressed, the dimensions of this enmity have expanded, and its depth and intensity have increased.

Referring to the imposed 12-day war, he added: The Islamic Republic of Iran was engaged in negotiations with the United States when it was subjected to the barbaric aggression of the Zionist regime, and the United States also supported and accompanied the Zionist regime in this aggression.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Army added: The Zionist regime attacked us to destroy our nuclear, missile, and air defense capabilities and martyring our commanders. It subsequently also stated the overthrow of the Islamic system and the country of Iran, which were among the subsequent goals of this regime. However, it was defeated and requested a ceasefire due to the valuable planning of the Supreme Leader and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in replacing commanders, the self-sacrifice and power of the armed forces, and the insight of the heroic Iranian nation.

Major General Hatami emphasized: We were victorious in this war because the enemy failed to achieve its objectives in this war.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Army continued, stressing that the Zionist regime's feeling towards us is one of existential threat, and said: After the war, we have not wasted a single moment in enhancing our defense capability and power, and have made becoming stronger our top priority.

Major General Hatami, while appreciating the decisive role of the people in preserving security and national interests during the 12-day war, stated: Under any circumstances, we stand firm in defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the point of martyrdom, and we believe that the slightest harm to the Islamic system is a blow to the independence, territorial integrity, and our dear country, Iran.

The head of the Parliament's Planning, Budget, and Audit Commission, Gholamreza Tajgardoon, also in this meeting, while appreciating the actions and powerful defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army in the 12-day war and in defense of the Islamic system, stated that security and health, according to the teachings of the Infallible Imams (peace be upon them), are two invaluable blessings. He said: The armed forces and the army play a fundamental role in creating and strengthening the unparalleled blessing of security, and the position of the army in this regard is a special one.

In this meeting, Rear Admiral Sayyari, the Chief of Staff and Deputy Coordinator of the Army, several Army deputies, and members of the Parliament's Planning, Budget, and Audit Commission expressed some of their viewpoints.
