Zarif meets with Algerian PM

TEHRAN (defapress) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Zarif, who is on a three-nation African tour, met and talked with the new Prime Minister of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Sunday.

Zarif meets with Algerian PMThe newly-appointed Algerian PM pointed to friendly ties between Algiers and Tehran and, while expressing hope that economic relations will catch up with diplomatic ones, expressed his country’s readiness to boost bilateral cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all sectors.

"Banking relations, automaking and building construction are among possible venues for cooperation between the two sides,” stressed Tebboune recalling that Iran and Algeria share numerous commonalities.

He went on to touch upon regional developments asserting "Algeria holds good relations with regional states though, unfortunately, certain crises exist in the Arab and Muslim world which are more like insensible conflicts.”

"Islam marks the uniting factor between all of us who share common interests and believe that all disputed can be settled through dialogue and moderation,” stressed the official.

Also at the meeting, Iran’s Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to significance of relations with the North African country adding "both countries share similar views on and make consultations over regional and international issues.”

No limits exist to development of ties with Algeria and Iran is ready to bolter these relations in all sectors by removing existing barriers, underlined the Iranian FM.

As the second leg of his African tour, Zarif left Algeria for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in western Africa in order to meet and talk with official of the Arab country.
