Iran Deputy FM attends 2nd Lebanon liberation feastIran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari is currently in Lebanon for talks on issues of mutual interests with the country's officials and scholars.

He has so far, talked to the spokesman for Lebanon's Hezbollah Seyed Ebrahim Amin al-Seyed in Baalbek and held separate meetings with 19 political and religious Lebanese officials.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also addressed the ceremony to celebrate Lebanon's second liberation through a televised message during which he said Lebanon was fully liberated from Daesh terrorists.

A number of Lebanese political, social figures, lawmakers, parliament speaker, officials and ordinary people have also participated in the ceremony.

On August 28, after eight days of intensive operation by Lebanese army and Hezbollah forces, Lebanon managed to retake some of its eastern areas from the terrorist group Daesh.

As a result of the operation which was also carried out by the Syrian army in the Syrian part, a 120-killometer area straddling Syria-Lebanon border, was retaken from Daesh terrorists. The region was under control of the terrorist group for about three years.

This is the second time that the Lebanese won a historic victory since 2000 when they for the first time drove the Zionist occupiers out of the southern Lebanon.

In an earlier speech immediately after recapturing the Lebanese territories from Daesh terrorists, Nasrallah said that August 28 (the day of victory over Daesh terrorists) should be designated as the ‘second liberation of Lebanon’ in the country's history.

The first victory was made in 2000 when the Zionist regime was expelled from Lebanon after a 33-day fight.
