Nasrallah Calls for United Strategy in Face of US, Israeli ThreatsIn response to US President Donald Trump’s recent designation of Jerusalem (al-Quds) as the capital of Israel, Nasrallah called on “all resistance factions in the region ... to develop a unified strategy…,” according to Daily Star.

“We in Hezbollah and the Islamic resistance movement will continue fulfilling our responsibilities in this respect,” he said.

The unquestionable goal, he said, was “to face (Israeli) aggression to restore Jerusalem (for the Palestinians).”

“They wanted this decision to be the beginning of the end of the Palestinian cause. Come together to make this foolish American decision the beginning of the end for Israel,” Nasrallah urged.

In the speech broadcast live to tens of thousands of Lebanese and Palestinians gathered in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Nasrallah also called for a third Palestinian intifada (uprising) in response to Trump’s decision.

“The most important response will be to announce a third Palestinian intifada on all occupied Palestinian territories, and it is upon the Arab and Islamic world to support (Palestinians),” Nasrallah said.

He called on Arab states to halt talks connected to the peace process and urged nations to press the US to roll back its decision.

“(Even) if the whole world unites against us, no one will be able to take Jerusalem,” Nasrallah said as a roaring crowd waved the flags of Palestine, Lebanon and Hezbollah.

The Trump administration had expected the world to welcome his “arrogant” move and follow suit, Nasrallah said, but he “appeared to be isolated in his decision, with (only) Israel at his side.”

“We should show our appreciation for all the stances taken rejecting this blatant and obnoxious American aggression,” he said.

He went on to denounce moves by some countries in the region to normalize ties with Israel, urging all “Arab and Islamic countries to sever relations.”
