The army men beat back Al-Nusra fighters that had attacked the pro-government forces' positions in the outskirts of the town of Harasta from Southeastern direction of Maktabat al-Emad region.
The Al-Nusra suffered heavy casualties and pulled the remaining pockets of its forces back after their attack was warded off by the army units.
In the meantime, field sources in Northern Homs reported that terrorists' missile and artillery units targeted the army positions in the Southern and Western parts of Talbiseh region and North of the town of al-Rastan, violating ceasefire in the de-escalation zone.
The sources added that the army, in response, shelled heavily terrorists' positions in al-Mokaramiyeh region and in the town of Kafr Laha in Northern and Northwestern Homs, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.
Relevant reports said on Friday that the army men, in a pre-emptive operation, ambushed a column of terrorists in Humeimeh region in Eastern Homs, killing or wounding a large number of ISIL terrorists and destroying their equipment.
The army units, meantime, clashed with a group of terrorists that tried to prevail over army positions in the village of Ein al-Dananir near the town of al-Mosheirefeh from their positions in village of Ein Issa in Northern Homs.
The terrorist group suffered heavy casualties and pulled forces back from the battlefield after the army repelled their offensive.
