"Given the good relations between Iran and Baghdad and the good ties between Tehran and Erbil, the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys the capacity to play an effective role to resolve problems between Erbil and Baghdad since both sides trust Iran," Dabagh said on Tuesday.
He stressed Iran's positive role in the Middle-East, and said an Iranian delegation is due to visit Erbil in the future.
"Iran and the Iraqi Kurdistan region have always had good relations. Of course the referendum (for independence in the Iraqi Kurdistan region) hit a blow to these ties in a period of time but after that, both sides tried to resolve the problems and strengthen relations," Dabagh said.
In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani announced that Iran is one of the most important neighbors of Iraq.
"We want relations at high level with the Islamic Republic of Iran," Barzani said after a meeting with a delegation from Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in Sulaymaniyah.
He underlined that all political parties in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region have the same policy and desire.
